Barbara Mitchell, 82, of Paragould, went to her heavenly home Thursday, April 19, 2018. She was born December 7, 1935, in Cherry Valley, Arkansas, to Roy and Cindy Cade. Barbara was a devoted family woman. Quality family time was so valuable to Barbara. She especially looked forward to camping at Buffalo River where she would cook for her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted member of Paragould Church of God. She enjoyed reading books and watching television. Among her favorite television shows were Walker Texas Ranger, Andy Griffith, and Murder She Wrote.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 61 years, Michael Mitchell.
Survivors include her sons and daughter in law, Michael Mitchell of Batesville, Arkansas, Merle and Vickie Mitchell of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; daughter and son in law, Michele and Rodney Weaver of Paragould; brother, Kenneth Cade; grandchildren, Michael, Josh, Jessica, Christopher, Carolyn, Drake, Anna Marie, Dillon, and Wyatt; and great grandchildren, Collins, Alexia, and Ben.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 23, from noon until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Stan Mitchell and John Everett officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
Barbara’s grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
After the service, everyone is invited to attend a meal in honor of Mrs. Mitchell at the Paragould Church of God Fellowship Hall.
