Iveriah (Cupp) Austin

Iveriah Austin, 91, of Paragould passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.  She was born, March 24, 1925, in Paragould to Fred and Esther Cupp.  Iveriah supported her country during World War II by working as Rosie the Riveter (Bucker).  On September 4, 1945, she married the love of her life, Jonah Austin.  Together they raised 4 children.  Iveriah was a loving Christian wife, homemaker, caregiver, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She enjoyed nothing more than caring for her family and providing a wonderful Christian example for all to see.  She was a faithful member of 7^th and Mueller Church of Christ.  Iveriah loved the Lord and her family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband of 37 years, Jonah Austin; brothers, Cloyce, Cletus, and Jimmy Cupp; and sisters, Elwanda Compte, Shirley and Carolyn Cupp. 

Survivors include Iveriah’s sons and daughters in law, Jerry and Gail Austin, of Theodosia, MO, Connie and Prakrong Austin, of Lutz, FL, Michael and Darlene Austin, of Carrollton, TX; daughter and son in law, Paula and Omer Overbay, of Paragould; sisters, Joyce Miles, of Mountain Home, AR , and Barbara Bartley, of Judsonia, AR; sister in law, Mildred Wheeler; grandchildren, Damon Austin and his wife, Melinda,  Sabrina Austin, Bobby Austin, Sr., and his wife Heather,  Sharon Colding, and her husband, Thomas,  Ladda Marx, Christopher Austin and his wife, Elizabeth, Ryan Overbay and his wife, Allison, Anna Brumfield and her husband, Jonathan; great grandchildren, Tyler Austin,  Jake Austin, Brianne Austin, Samantha Austin,  Bobby Austin, Jr., Brandon Austin, Brayden Austin, Mark Thomas, Jr.,  Jakob Colding, Evan Colding, Taylor Austin, Haleigh Austin, Grant Overbay and Myla Overbay.

The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Phillips Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2016, in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Larry McFadden officiating.  Burial will follow at Pine Knot Cemetery.

Christopher, Taylor, Damon, Tyler, Jake, and Ryan will serve as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby, Sr., Bobby, Jr., and Jonathan.

Lasting memorials may be made to Compassion Outreach at 7^th and Mueller Church of Christ.
