Larry “Babe” Young, 69, of Paragould, was at home with his family as he passed away, May 21, 2016. Larry was born, November 17, 1946, in Paragould, to Dave and Virginia Young. He had a lifelong love for motorcycles and was a founding member of Pharaoh M.C. and Charter Member and first President of the Association M.C. Babe leaves behind 32 club brothers. Larry was an avid baseball fan, especially the Yankees. He volunteered as a girls softball and boys baseball coach for years. He retired from Darling Store Fixtures with 40 years of service.
Babe was preceded in death by his parents and loving grandparents, Clint and Dola Adams.
Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Beth; daughters, Christi Young Speer and her husband, James Speer, Toni Woods Smith and her husband, Jarrod Smith; son, Todd Woods; grandchildren, Seth Dearing, Kamryn Dearing, Zach Poteet, Gage Smith, Kylie Smith, Whitney Woods, Destiny Woods, Brittney Woods, and Abby Woods; great granddaughters, Kaylee and Mersadie Poteet, all of Paragould; half-brother, David Young, of Idaho Falls, ID.
The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016, in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with David Aronson and Larry Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Duck Davis, Mack Newsom, Kevin Perrin, Wayne Woods, Randy West, and Mike Sylvest. The Association M.C. brothers will serve as honorary pallbearers.
