William Thomas (Tommy) Shewmaker, Jr.

William Thomas Shewmaker, Jr. of Paragould passed away on January 7, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 30, 1959. Tommy was a devoted husband and son, and a doting father and grandfather. He was also a lover of animals, especially his black lab Dax, who was his best buddy. He enjoyed exploring the world through travel and going to the beach every year with his wife to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Tommy loved scuba diving and attending boot camp fitness classes. Tommy was beloved by many. He is sorely missed and will never be forgotten.

Tommy leaves behind his loving wife of 36 years, Mona Shewmaker, of Paragould, his sons and daughters-in-law, William Bradley Shewmaker and wife, Janelle, of Durham, NC, and Allen Neal Shewmaker and wife, Casey, of Lepanto; his grandchildren, Carter Shewmaker and June Shewmaker; his parents, W.T. and Neva Shewmaker, of Stanford; his sister, Sarah Neighbors and husband, David, of Paragould; his mother in law Sue Ross, and her husband, Doyal, of Paragould; brothers in law and sisters in law Marshall and Shari Hicks, of Paragould, Bill and Missie Hicks, of Jonesboro, Scott and Jennifer Hicks, of Paragould, and several nieces and nephews. Tommy was preceded in death by his siblings Carole Shewmaker and David Shewmaker.

The family will recieve friends from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 16th at 7th & Mueller Church of Christ in Paragould. A celebration of Tommy's life will follow at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Tommy's honor to P.A.W.S., P.O. Box 563, Paragould, AR  72450, or a charity of your choice.
