Allie May Findley, 94, of Paragould, passed away Tuesday, March 05, 2019, at her residence. She was born May 22, 1924, in Walnut Ridge, to William and Allie Manus. Allie was a loving mother and grandmother. She worked throughout the years at Dixie Cleaners, Randy’s Cleaners, and Paragould Laundry until her retirement at 70 years of age. She was the best cook around. Allie was a godly woman that fervently studied the Bible and went to Fairview Baptist Church when she was able. She enjoyed doing word puzzles, listening to the Gaither’s music, watching Cardinal Baseball, and the Young and the Restless. Allie will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Lessley Pickney and Pleas Findley; children, Charles Pickney, Bill Findley, Senoa Greene, Janette Propes, and Vernie Findley, Sr.; and grandchildren, Dennis Greene, David Greene, and Vernie Findley, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Norma and Rondal Warner; daughters in law, Barbara Pickney, Tonya Findley, and Tonya Taylor; son in law, Donald Propes; sister, Pearline Hacker; grandchildren, James Pickney, Billy Findley, Tanya Findley, Dewayne Greene, Nick Greene, Charles Starling, Tammie McNabb, Tina Williams, Jimmy Findley, Joshua Findley, Jennifer Goforth, Destiny Findley, Casey Pennington, Chase Findley, Trace Findley, Allie Findley, and Clayton Findley; and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Dennis Strope officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.
Charles Starling, Jimmy Findley, James Pickney, Nick Greene, Billy Findley, and Dewayne Greene will serve as pallbearers. J.W. Rawls, Jakob Findley, Keith Wigginton, Myles Williams, and Malik Williams will serve as honorary pallbearers.
