Alvin S. Buck, 80, of Paragould, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. He was born October 19, 1938, in Senath, Missouri, to Leland Buck, Sr. and Alta McCollum Buck. Alvin was an airplane technician for McDonnell Douglas and Northrop Grumman. Working on the B-2 Bomber was something Alvin took great pride in. In his later years, he worked as a barber/beautician in Taft, California, and in Paragould, Arkansas.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother in law, Fay and Opal Mitchell; and brothers, Sonny Buck and Gaylon Buck.
Survivors include Alvin’s wife of 60 years, Elnora “Puggy” Buck; son and daughter in law, Ricky and Ruthie Buck; brothers and sister in law, Jerry and Cheryl Buck, and Jackie Buck; brothers in law and sisters in law, Gary and Betty Mitchell, Mark and Vicki Mitchell, John and Pam Ryan, Rick and Penny Sinclair; grandchildren, Tasha Cox, Ricky Buck, Jr., and Cody Buck; great grandchildren, Jonathan and Arianna; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 22, from 5-7 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, April 23 at 2:30 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Art Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Brown’s Chapel Cemetery.
Tim Buck, Anthony Buck, Jerry Buck, Jr., Brad Buck, Daniel Gibson, and Brian Buck will have the honor to serve as pallbearers.
