Carlton “Don” Pope, 73, of Paragould passed away February 18, 2018, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was born December 22, 1944, in Jonesboro, to Charles and Margarette Pope. Don enjoyed spending his free time fishing, gardening, grilling, and building. He was an Army veteran. Don loved spending time with his family, and he especially loved his grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Donis Rodgers Pope; son and daughter-in-law, Lance and Misty Pope; daughters and son-in-law, Lori and Neal Jackson and Christy Davidson and her fiancé, Freddy Prince; brothers, Charlie and Scott Pope; sister, Charlotte Willden; ten grandchildren; two step grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be on Sunday, February 25, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 801 South Main Street, Jonesboro. There will be a reception at the church after the service.
A military burial at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, Birdeye, Arkansas, will be held at a later date.
