Connor Thomas Aikman

Connor Thomas Aikman, age 20, passed away on September 17, 2018, in Fort Polk, Louisiana.  Connor was born on October 24, 1997, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, to Daryl and Mechelle Aikman.  He graduated from Greene County Tech High School in Paragould, Arkansas, in 2016.  In March 2018, he enlisted in the Army.  Connor graduated AIT at Fort Benning, Georgia, in July 2018, and was later stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana.
Connor was a family man and was greatly loved by his peers.  He enjoyed spending time gaming and playing basketball with his friends.  His family and friends will always remember him as a godly, caring person.  He was the 4th generation of Aikman’s to serve in the U.S. Army.  He was a joy and a blessing to his family.
Connor is survived by his parents, Daryl and Mechelle Aikman, of Paragould; sister, Devan Aikman, of Paragould; grandparents, Wayne and Robin James, of West Helena, Arkansas; and great-grandmother, Helen Goodman, of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Connor was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Laverne James, of Hardy, Arkansas, and grandparents, Thomas and Janice Aikman, of West Helena, Arkansas.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 23, 2018, from 2:30-4:00 p.m. at Southside Community Church, 2211 Jones Road, Paragould, Arkansas.  The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation.  Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Connor’s life.   The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support we have been shown by all who knew Connor.
