Dalores Jean Hodge

Dalores Jean Hodge, 78, of Paragould, passed away on December 31, 2018.  Dalores was a devout Christian, a beloved wife, a loving mother, and an adoring grandmother.  Prior to retirement, she worked many years as a floral designer at Alvin Taylor’s Flower Shop as well as other floral shops around town.  Dalores loved to cook and was always the first to volunteer for cooking at her church.  She was at her happiest sharing her cooking talents with her friends and family.

Dalores was born in Fresno, California, on January 21, 1940, to Homer and Mable Salmon.  Dalores was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Mable Salmon; a brother, Bill Salmon; two sisters, Shirley Donathan and Carylon Whittle.

Dalores is survived by Jim Hodge, her husband of 60 years; two sons, Jerry Hodge and Larry Hodge (Cindy); granddaughters, Adrienne Hodge, Caydance Petty, and Mercedez Walker; grandsons, Matthew Harvey, Jay Harvey, and Jasper Walker all of Paragould.  She is also survived by her brother, Bob Salmon of Boles, Arkansas, and several nieces and nephews.

Dalores was a recent well loved resident of Belle Meade Green House Cottages where she enjoyed loving care from their outstanding staff. 

Visitation will be Monday, January 7, 2019, from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. also at Phillips Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Linwood Cemetery in Paragould.  Services will be conducted under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home with Dr. Marc Reeves officiating. 

Pallbearers will include Mike Gaskill, Joe Reeves, Mike Rowland, Doug Wigginton, Donny Russell, and Kenny Jones.
