Edward T.S. Wortham

Edward T.S. Wortham, 88, of Paragould, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019.  He was born June 15, 1931, in Alexander, Arkansas, to Thomas and Quleen Wortham.  Edward was an Army Veteran who served four years in Germany.  He was of Pentecostal faith and loved sharing the story of God with others.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  Edward was a hardworking man that loved and cared for his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Yule Wortham and Wilburn Wortham; sister, Bonnie Hayman; and infant brother.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Barbara Jane Wortham; sons and daughters in law, Rondal and Tammy Wortham, and Thomas and Latricia Wortham; daughter and son in law, Renae and Bill Robertson; grandchildren, Jeremy Wortham, Holly McDermott, Ryan Wortham, Brittany Wortham, Lexi Jordan, Alison Wortham, Ashlie Richardson, Wyman Howard, Marcy Howard, and Gerrie Robertson; and seven great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 22, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Saturday, November 23, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church at Paragould.  Burial will follow at Woodland Heights Cemetery.

Edward’s grandsons will have the honor of serving as pallbearers.  Bryan Shatley will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
