Frieda Louise (Potter) Kennedy

September 12, 1932 ~ January 5, 2019 (age 86)

Frieda Louise Potter-Kennedy, 86, of Paragould Arkansas, went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 05, 2019.  Frieda was the daughter of the late Clyde and Bertie Potter of Paragould.  She was born September 12, 1932, in Paragould, but had lived in several different places during the course of her lifetime.  She attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, where she met and married her husband, the late Rev. John E. Kennedy.  She was a devout Christian and a member of the Southern Baptist convention.  Frieda and her husband served the lord by pastoring churches in Ocala, Florida, Floral City, Florida, Arcadia, Florida, and Englewood, Florida.

Frieda was a person whose faith in God was unmatched, she lived her life by the guidelines set forth in the Bible and set a positive example for all of those who encountered her. She loved her family, loved her church, and was a woman of absolute integrity. She became a mother fifty-four years ago and it was a job that was a priority to her for her entire life, not only to her own children, but also to every child that entered her house. Everyone just knew her as “Mom.”

Frieda was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John E. Kennedy.

She is survived by her son, John Kennedy Jr.; her daughter, Donna Kennedy-McDonald; her sister, Ladon Dawson; her brothers, Jerrell Potter, Delmar Potter, Randall Potter; and by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
