Georgia E. Yates Worsham, 90, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She was born July 18, 1928, to W.O. and Leoda Box Yates. Georgia married Charles Webster Worsham on November 19, 1947. They were married for 69 years until his death on July 13, 2017. She was of Methodist faith and was an Eastern Star. She was a nurse at the Dixon Memorial Hospital, Arkansas Methodist Medical Center, and a nursing instructor for Delta Vocational Technical School for many years. Nursing and caring for the sick was her first love. After retirement, fishing and camping with Charles and friends took the place of nursing and became her favorite past time. They continued to do so until failing health prevented them from traveling.
Survivors include her four children, Jean Johnson, Kay Worsham, Butch (Debra) Worsham, Andrea (Bryan) Buck; only granddaughter, Lindsey Hagood and grand puppy, Presley Buck; grandsons, Jon Holmes, Kager Noel, Blaine Morgan, Cody Worsham, Ethan Worsham; great-grandchildren, Kaleigh Remillard, Allen Simpson, Alexis Terrell, Addie Terrell, Tyson Hagood, Ella Hagood, Jagger Hagood; sisters, Katherine Smith, Louise Scudder; sister in law, Elwanda Yates; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Worsham; father in law and mother in law, Kager Worsham and Ruth Lewis Spillman; and brothers, Marion and R. L. Yates.
The family will have a private memorial service.
