Imogene “Jean” Hudspeth, 88, of Lafe, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018. She was born June 27, 1929, to Henry and Ella Qualls. Jean loved canning from her garden. She was a talented quilter and crocheter. Jean was an active member of Lafe Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school classes for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Milphard “Jim” Hudspeth; grandson, Bryce William Anderson Hudspeth; and several siblings.
Survivors include husband of 71 years, Mel Hudspeth; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Christie Hudspeth, Ron and Tina Hudspeth; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 3, from 6-8 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Friday, May 4, at 11 a.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with David Poe officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.
