Jimmy Dale DeFries, 65, Marmaduke, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Jimmy was born July 23, 1952, to Harold and Mildred DeFries. He was an airborne veteran for the Army and served for two years. He was a truck driver for most of his life. After retiring, he went to work for Laramie River Ranch in Colorado, as a dishwasher. Jimmy was a rolling stone who loved to travel and attend rodeos. He was very active with the Marmaduke Greyhounds. Jimmy was a little league baseball coach and umpire. He also helped coach the Junior Marmaduke Greyhounds baseball team for two years and was the groundskeeper for the baseball field at the school.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Courtney Stillman, and brothers, Jerry DeFries, Gary DeFries and Kevin DeFries.
He is survived by his brothers; Rick DeFries, Mike DeFries, Randy DeFries, and Keith DeFries; sister, Judy Hamilton; and grandchildren, Trevor, Jasmine, Dylan and Trinity.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 25, 2018, 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Marmaduke Baptist Church with a memorial service following at 7 P.M. Bro Kim Bridges will be officiating.
