Shirley Ann (Morgan) Loften (78) passed away on Tuesday July 3, 2018. She was born September 4, 1939, in Paragould. Shirley was retired, but had worked in many careers during her lifetime. From waitressing, to retail, to being a lady butcher at IGA. But her most important career was as a wife and mother taking care of her family. Shirley was a wonderful and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and was devoted to caring for them. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling, going dancing with her husband and was also an avid reader.
Preceding her in death were her parents Modine and Chester Lamb, her brother Larry Lamb, one son Duane Edward Loften, and the love of her life, her husband Joe Loften.
Shirley is survived by her three daughters and their spouses, Joy Evans, Kim and Jim Mask, and Kelly and Dennis Cox, all of Paragould. Six grandchildren and spouses, CJ & Amy Klingensmith, Justin & Amy Klingensmith, Jay Alan Smith, Morgan Ann Cox and Dylan Troy Cox. And 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Brenda Gaynell Barr and Ella Dean Smith of Paragould, and Mogine Sweet of Gresham, Oregon, one special uncle Burnin (Square) Morgan. And numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, July 10th at Phillips Funeral Home at 11am. Kenny Johnson will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider a contribution to the American Cancer Society.
