Shirley Ann (Riggs) Wooldridge

Shirley Ann Wooldridge, 81, of Paragould, passed away Friday, July 26, 2019.  She was born January 29, 1938, in Dell, Arkansas, to Edison and Hazel Riggs.  As a young girl her family relocated to Greene County.  She was devoted to the Lord and her family.  Shirley was an exceptional cook and often hosted family and friends in her home.  She was a member of Union Central Church of Christ where she worshiped with her family for more than sixty years.  Shirley married the love of her life, Winston Wooldridge on August 10, 1957.  They raised four boys on the family farm.     

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Winston “Wimp” Wooldridge; sister, Sue Clowers; and granddaughter, Heather Dickinson.

Survivors include sons and daughters in law, Dean and Beverly Wooldridge, Tim and Lisa Wooldridge, Keith and Denise Wooldridge, Allen and Michelle Wooldridge; grandchildren, Kerry Wooldridge, Jeremy (Stephanie) Wooldridge, Shelley (Kirk) Brinkley, Tiffany (Dustin) Jackson, Brian (Leah) Wooldridge, Kimberly ( Jeremy) McClelland, Alexander Wooldridge, Audrey Wooldridge, Mitchell Juneau and Gavin Juneau; great grandchildren, Halle Brinkley, Levi McClelland, Jax Wooldridge, Knox Wooldridge, Max Jackson, Finley Grace Jackson, Hailey Blagg, McKenley Blagg, Aurora Wooldridge, and Collin Wooldridge; brother and sister in law, Glen and Carolyn Riggs; and brother in law, Wendell Clowers.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Tuesday, July 30, at 10:00 a.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Tim Wooldridge and Glen Riggs officiating.  Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Kerry Wooldridge, Brian Wooldridge, Jeremy Wooldridge, Alexander Wooldridge, Kirk Brinkley, Dustin Jackson, and Jeremy McClelland will serve as pallbearers.  Max Jackson, Jax Wooldridge, Collin Wooldridge, Levi McClelland, and Knox Wooldridge will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at St. Bernards Medical Center and Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House for the wonderful care for Shirley.
