Tommy Dale Smith, 67, of Paragould, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born August 19, 1950, in Paragould, to Marcus C.V. and Ruby Smith. Tommy was a 1968 graduate of Oak Grove High School. He was an Army Veteran, who served in the Vietnam War. He retired after 35 years from Emerson Electric. Tommy enjoyed deer hunting and was a member of the Horseshoe Hunting Club. He looked forward to mornings at McDonald’s or Iron Horse where he visited with friends. Tommy was a member of New Haven Baptist Church.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother in law, Dean and Bernice Farley; and brother, Marcus Leon Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Cathy Farley Smith; brother, Ricky Smith (Jerri Beaver); sisters and brothers in law, Kathryn (Bernard) Trayler, Jo Anne Messer, and Carolyn Cole (Jesse Spencer); brother in law, John (Linda) Farley; sisters in law, Carey (James) Beasley and Chris (Don) Abbott; several nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces.
The family will receive friends 11:00 until service time Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Scott Trayler and Ron Pickney officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery.
Travis Cole, Joey Trayler, Dallas Trayler, Tyler Trayler, Dale Smith, and Dewayne Messer will serve as pallbearers.
