Alfred "Fred" Ellis, 85, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018. He was born August 31, 1932, to Fred and Ruth Ellis. Fred and his wife worked with children since 1970. He was the executive director of the children's home in San Benito,Texas. Fred was a long time member of the Church of Christ and a dorm parent at Crowley's Ridge College for 21 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Herman and Paul Ellis; and sister, Eleanor Ellis.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Marylyn Ellis; sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Erlinda Ellis of Glasgow, KY, Jay Ellis of Paragould, Jerry and Brenda Ellis of Cherokee Village, AR, Danny and Jennifer Ellis of Signal Mountain, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Ken Kerr of Jackson, TN; and 11 grandchildren.

A private service will be held at a later date.
