Alma Gene Penny, 89, of Paragould Arkansas, passed away June 3, 2015 at Greene Acres Nursing Home. She was born April 27, 1926 at Light, Arkansas to the late Jack and Myrtie Gatlin. Mrs. Penny was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed working in the yard and her flower gardens. She worked at the shoe factory and eventually retired from Emerson Electric.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 42 years, William Maurice Penny; one son, William James Penny; three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include daughters, Betty Ray and Darlene Fuller of Paragould, Arkansas, and Debbie Gable of Blytheville, Arkansas; grandchildren, Joey Penny, Larry and Asa Ray, Anthony and Shawn Fuller, Ashley Stracener, and Eric Farrell.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 – 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Kim Bridges officiating. Burial will be in

Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Ray, Shawn Fuller, Eric Farrell, Bill Gatlin, Jessy Ray, Tony Whitlock, Adam Ray, Wymann Atwood and Joey Penny.
