Alma Loreda White, a cherished and devout member of her community, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on June 16, 1939, Alma lived a life marked by love, faith, and the joy of family.
Alma was a beacon of warmth and compassion. Her dedication to her large family was evident in every aspect of her life. She was a source of unwavering support and pride, always present at the milestones and everyday moments that shaped the lives of her loved ones. Alma's presence at her children's and grandchildren's ball games was a testament to her commitment to her family, cheering them on with enthusiasm that was both infectious and endearing.
Her faith played a central role in Alma's life. A long-standing member of Marmaduke First Baptist Church, she lived her beliefs through action and service. Alma's spiritual devotion was a guiding force, and she found great solace and community within the church walls. Her faith was a wellspring of strength, not only for herself but for all who were touched by her kindness and grace.
Alma's passion for life extended beyond her immediate circle. She had a zest for travel, exploring new places, and creating memories that she would fondly recount to her family and friends. Her adventurous spirit was matched by her ability to find joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Several of Alma's family members followed her example of service by entering the ministry, a path that brought her immense pride. Her legacy of faith and love for the church will continue to inspire future generations.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Dale White; daughter, Karin Jones; parents, Ira and Gladys Harris; siblings, Billy Harris, Earlene Presson, Rosie Mae White; and great-grandsons, Landon Hunt and Knox Klinger.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy Keith White (Lynette); daughters, Patricia Routon (Mike), Lesia Wilson (Rick), Angie Scudder (Buzzy); twin sister, Thelma Berneda (Ash); twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
There will be a celebration of Alma's life at Marmaduke First Baptist Church on Thursday, January 9, at 10:30 a.m.
