Almarie Rogers passed away peacefully on June 30, 2023. Born on October 7, 1927, to William and Pearle (Holland)Hamilton. Almarie was a beacon of light and love to her family, friends, and community. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl Rogers, and her brothers, Floyd Hamilton, Ernest Hamilton, Earl Hamilton; and sisters, Faye Glaser, and Esma Moyer. Almarie will be dearly missed by her surviving family including her sons, Gary (Diane) Rogers and Dennis (Janie) Rogers, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and her great-great-grandchildren.
Almarie was known for her wonderful cooking skills. Anyone who was lucky enough to taste her meals knew instantly of the love and care she put into each dish. She was a phenomenal homemaker, always ensuring her home was a place of comfort and joy for her family and all who visited.
Basketball was a lifetime passion for Almarie. She was the biggest fan of the Marmaduke Greyhounds, always cheering them on with an undeniable spirit. Her love for the game was infectious, inspiring others around her to share in her enthusiasm.
Known for being plain-spoken, Almarie had a way with words that was both refreshing and inspiring. Her honesty and straightforwardness were qualities that many admired and appreciated. Almarie never shied away from speaking her mind.
Almarie's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She loved going to church and held a deep affection for her church family. Her faith was an inspiration to those around her, and she was always eager to share the love of God with others. Her commitment to her faith was unwavering, providing her with strength and comfort throughout her life.
As a loving grandmother, Almarie had a special bond with her grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with them, always making time to listen, play, and teach. Her grandchildren brought her immense joy, and she in turn was a source of love, wisdom, and comfort to them. Almarie's love for her family extended to her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She took great pride in her large, loving family and loved sharing stories and memories with them.
Almarie is survived by her sons, Gary (Diane) Rogers, Dennis (Janie) Rogers; her grandchildren, Angela Marie (Chris) Pilz, Dennis Ashley (Melanie) Rogers, Brad Keith (Jennilee) Rogers, Darren Alan (Natalie) Rogers; her great-grandchildren, Ashton Hopp, Addison Hurd, Aldon Jane Pilz, Maya Flores, Jayla Gettys, Jaylee Gettys, Millicent Rogers, Lyla Rogers, Finley Rogers, Theo Rogers, Orlin Rogers, and Zilker Rogers; and her great-great-grandchildren, Logan Hurd and Wesley Hurd.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 6, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Marc Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff at Dalton and Tuberville Houses at Belle Meade. Lasting memorials may be made to the Children's Home in Paragould and Gideons International.
