Amy Elizabeth (Mathis) Baker - August 31, 2013 Amy Elizabeth (Mathis) Baker, 42, passed away Saturday August 31, 2013 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born February 8, 1971 to Don and Jackie Mathis. She was a beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend to many. She was a faithful servant who was a cherished member of the First United Methodist Church of Paragould. Amy was passionate about her children, family, church family, and enjoyed cooking for all of them.Amy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Leonard and Violet Brogdon; paternal grandparents Ben and Faye Mathis, Sr. She is survived by her loving husband, Leonard Baker, Jr., three wonderful children, Mollee, 18, Olivia and Samuel, both 13, all of the home. Amy is also survived by her loving mother, Jackie Mathis of Paragould; loving father, Don Mathis of Sikeston,Mo; father in law and mother in law, Dick and Hazel Baker of Brookland, AR; sister and brother in law, Andrea and Robert Dunlap of Springdale, AR; sister in law and brother in law, Sherry and Shane Dowless of Joneboro, AR; maternal aunts and uncles, Peggy and Dillman Cothren, Vicki and Ron Craig, Charles and Janie Brogdon, and Frank Brogdon all of Paragould; paternal aunt May Mooney of Cleveland OH ; paternal uncles, Ben Mathis, Jr. and Bill Mathis of Paragould. Amy was a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews, Graci, Alex, and Phoebe Dunlap, Nakita Jordan, and Jessica Wade. She leaves behind countless cousins and close friends.The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Phillips Funeral Home. Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Phillips Funeral Home chapel with John Fleming and Jeff Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery. Paul Kuntze, Luke Cook, Doug Passmore, Robert Thompson, King Benson, and Clint Beliew will be serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Dowless and Tommy McDaniel.
