Obituary

Ruth Annette Chunn passed away at the age of 74, on September 8, 2025. Born on August 5, 1951, Annette lived a life marked by compassion, commitment, and creativity.

After raising her children, Annette received her RN degree.  She dedicated her professional life to the service of others, working in both administrative roles and as a nursing director at a local nursing home. Her passion for long-term care was evident in her tireless efforts to improve the quality of life for the elderly residents she served.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Annette's love extended into her personal interests and hobbies. She was an extraordinarily talented artisan with a penchant for creating beautiful handcrafted items. Whether she was crocheting, knitting, or sewing, Annette poured her heart into every stitch.

An avid reader, Annette found solace and adventure within the pages of countless books. She believed that through reading, one could live many lives and experience the world in all its diversity and wonder. The time spent with her grandchildren was precious, filled with stories, laughter, and the silent expression of unconditional love.

Annette's joy was amplified when she shared moments with family, friends, and her beloved cat, Callie. Her presence was a touchstone for countless gatherings, holidays, and everyday visits, where she listened, advised, and comforted. Her ability to make anyone feel part of the family was a gift to all who knew her.

Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Myrtle Dowler; sister, Glenda Dowler; and brothers, Tony Dowler, Ray Bert Dowler, and Rick Dowler.

Survivors include her children, Kimberly Hester, Laurie Sims (Chris), and Kevin Chunn (Cheri); grandchildren, Emily Ann Turner (Josh), Mallory Works (Dylan), and Spencer Sims; great-grandchildren, Kaylynn Stewart, Korbin Stewart, Max Turner, Paisley Ruiz, Raylynn Hazlewood, and Blakleigh Works; brothers, Ronnie Dowler and Gary Dowler; and sisters, Carol Kibler, Belinda Dowler, Vickie Finley, and Toni Rouse.
