Barbara Jean Eaton passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Eaton; father, James Conger; mother, Mildred Conger; and son, Keith Eaton.

She is survived by her brother, Donnie Conger; two sons, Bradley Eaton (Alice Eaton) and Steve Eaton (Pam Eaton); grandchildren, Kaitlyn Maynard, Christina Mendoza (John Mendoza) and James Eaton; great-grandchildren, Remy Mendoza and Colette Mendoza.

Barbara was born in Hanford, California, May 5, 1940. She moved to Arkansas as a child to a farm in Marmaduke. She spent most of her life in Arkansas. She married Lowell Eaton, a Methodist minister, and enjoyed a long marriage of 63 years. She and Lowell moved to Alabama in their later years to be close to their son. Barbara was a house wife and a church secretary for most of her married life. She was an avid reader and enjoyed decorating the many parsonages that they had while they moved from parish to parish. In later years, they had a lake house which she enjoyed immensely as she helped to design, build and decorate.

The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, at Phillips Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Hartsoe Cemetery in Marmaduke.
