Barry Paul Jackson, also known as BB, BarPa and JugButt, age 72, crossed over Wednesday September 16, 2026. He resided in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and maintained close ties with his many friends in Whelen Springs, Arkansas and Paragould, Arkansas. Born July 29, 1954, to Nadine Harper and David Jackson, Barry graduated from Gurdon High School in 1972.

Every job Barry held involved hard labor, the kind that has no vacation time, holiday pay, insurance benefits, or a 401k retirement plan. He worked as a long-haul trucker and in construction before spending most of his career as a logger in and around Clark County, Arkansas. There was not a piece of machinery that he could not skillfully operate, whether it was a cutting machine, loader, chainsaw, skidder, delimber, tractor, excavator or backhoe. Barry loved a good yard sale, auction, or flea market bargain and had to browse Facebook Marketplace daily to see what treasures he could find.

Although the Razorbacks were a continual disappointment for him, Barry was a big SEC football and basketball fan and an even bigger fan of NHRA drag racing. He spent many Sunday afternoons cheering on Team Kalitta. Some of his best memories and stories came from deer, turkey and squirrel camp. He truly loved sitting around a campfire, enjoying the company of friends and a cold beverage. He could talk turkey and deer hunting for hours and spent many days on the Little Missouri 'tight-linnin' for catfish, the only kind of fish that really matters.

Barry befriended every cat in the country and made sure the deer feeders were never empty. Barry loved to tinker, and his passion was Coleman lanterns and stoves. They just were not right until they had a blue flame. His greatest passion, however, was flying. Nothing brought him more joy than being up in his airplane. The sky was his happy place.

Barry was preceded in death by his parents and sister Vicky.

Barry leaves behind his wife and soulmate, Stacey Terry Jackson; his son, Jordan Jackson; three granddaughters, Avery, Kenadee, and Brylee; his brother, Joe David Jackson (Teri and niece, Amanda); nephew Stephen Jackson; niece Michealyn Strorher; cousin, Hal Harper; and three very special friends, Mike Ezell, Ronnie Nance, and David Hudson. He also leaves behind many other family members and a wide circle of friends who loved him dearly. Barry was a kindhearted soul, and a good, good man!

Phillips Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. A drop-in memorial service will be held Sunday, October 11, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Crowley's Ridge State Park, Pavilion #2. A Celebration of His Life Party is planned for Sunday, November 15 at his home in Whelen Springs.
