Bernice Mitchell, 82, of Paragould passed away December 30, 2018, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.  She was born April 14, 1936, in Flint, Michigan, to Jess and Emma Byers.  Bernice was a homemaker that dedicated her time to caring for family.  She played piano and organ for 50 years at several churches.  She was a member of Transform Church for 25 years.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William H. Mitchell; and sister, Margaret Kellum.

Survivors include her sons and daughters in law, William Mitchell, Larry and Tammy Mitchell, David and Davina Mitchell; brothers, Eugene Byers and Wyman Byers; sisters, Barbara Wortham, Janice Meeler, Patricia Cronk, and Wendy Thick; eleven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 2, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be Thursday, January 3, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Dale Pattee, Jesse England, and Jerry England officiating.  Burial will follow at Center Hill Cemetery.
