Betty J. Janes, 78, of Paragould, passed away May 21, 2017, at her residence.  She was born September 5, 1938, to Fant and Ioan Holt.  Betty was a talented seamstress and enjoyed bowling.  Most of all, Betty cherished the time spent with her son, Richard.  She especially enjoyed when he took her fishing.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, James and Jerry Don Holt.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Janes; son, Richard Janes; siblings, Dorothy Eckles, JoAnn Easton, Gary Holt, Tony Holt, Diane Keen, and Keith Holt.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 23, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home.  The funeral service will begin at noon in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Heath Vines officiating.  Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Jimmy McDaniel, Greg Markum, James Taylor, Bill Robinson, Britt Lyles, and Dennis Risinger will serve as pallbearers.  Jerry Don Williams and Kalen Free will serve as honorary pallbearers.
