Betty Marie Paskel, 90, of Paragould went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 13, 2015.  She was born in Paragould, September 10, 1925, to the late Cail and Eva Katherine Rowland.  Betty was a 1943 graduate of Greene County Tech where she played basketball under Coach Sadie Cox Lamb.  She was a founding member of New Haven Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband of 49 years, V.L. "Pete" Paskel; brothers, J.W.  "Bill," and Robert "R.C." Rowland; daughter, Anna Katherine Paskel; sister in law, Reba Rowland; and longtime friend, Bill Biggs.

Survivors include Betty's sons, James Robert Paskel and John Paskel and his wife, Merry, all of Paragould; sister in law, Janet Rowland; grandchildren, Alyssa and Caila Paskel; niece, Vicki Fulbright; nephew, Cort Rowland; best friends, Rebecca Boone, Pauline Kellems, Dorothy Cook, and Joetta Wiilliams.

The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2015, at Phillips Funeral Home.  The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Brother Ron Pickney officiating.  Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.

The family would like to express their gratitude to St. Bernards Home Health and Hospice.  Also, thank you so much to Betty's nurse, Vickie Moyland, and assistant, Delaine, for their wonderful care. A special thank you to her church friend Marla Phipps for all her visits.
