Bill J. Abbott, 74, of Paragould passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was born April 2, 1938 in Grays Ridge, MO to James and Dora Abbott. Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, David Abbott of Paragould; five brothers, Claude Abbott of Lonoke, AR, Cletus Abbott, Frank Abbott, Johnny Abbott, and Bobby J. Abbott all of Paragould. He is leaving behind a loving wife of twenty two years, Carolyn J. Abbott of the home; three sons, Leslie Abbott, Danny Abbott both of Paragould and Morgan Abbott of Hoxie, AR; one daughter, Tammy Nelson of Paragould; four stepchildren, Pamela Gillespie of Prattsville, AR, Jeffrey Chandler of Saginaw, Tx, Tracy Chandler of North Little Rock, AR, and Brian Chandler of Paragould; four sisters, Geraldine Rose, Imogene Huffine, Christine Halsel, and Debra Jones all of Paragould. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.Visitation will be Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. in the Phillips Funeral Home chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Dr. Dennis Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at New Friendship Cemetery.
