Billie Fern Ward, 95, of Westland, MI, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. She was born in Piggott, AR, on August 15, 1926, to Edd and Lonia Pinkston. Billie enjoyed working in her garden, quilting, crocheting, and cooking. She loved taking care of her family and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delmar Ward; daughter, Gail Harvey-Skrandis; granddaughter, April Ward; and siblings, Reva Yow (James), Dorothy Dover (James), Moira Strong (Floyd), Marvin Pinkston, Jewel Pinkston, and Marion Pinkston.
Survivors include her sons, James "Jimmy" Ward, Gary Ward, Daryl Ward; daughter, Marsha Ward; brother, Clyde Pinkston; grandchildren, Charles Harvey, Michael Harvey, Steven Harvey, Angela Ward; and great-grandchildren, Jenna Allen Harvey (Mark), Madeline "Maddy" Harvey, Noah Harvey, Owen Harvey, Brendan Harvey (Kelcie), Brionna Harvey, Peyton Harvey, and Paige Harvey.
A graveside service under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home will be on Tuesday, April 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Linwood Cemetery with David King officiating.
