Billy Henry Benson entered Heavens gates on May 11, 2017.  He was born to Eric and Alice Benson in Boydsville, Arkansas, on November 22, 1937.  Bill was a cherished husband, dad, and paw-paw.  He was a longtime member of the Fifth and Pine Church of Christ congregation.  He loved to ride his horses and spend time with his family.  He loved to laugh and strived to make others enjoy life as much as he did.  Bill worked hard throughout his life and taught his family to work hard as well.  Bill owned a service station in St. Louis, worked as a jailer in Clay County, and farmed land outside of Rector.

Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Jane Benson, of the home; three sons, Bart Benson, Brad Benson, and Bruce Benson; Bruce's wife, LaVonda, and their three daughters, Chelsea and Madison Benson, and Breanna Dixon; Breanna's husband, James, and their son, Baby James.  He is also survived by his family of caregivers at Rector Nursing and Rehab.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 5:00 p.m. at Fifth and Pine Church of Christ in Rector.  The family will receive visitors the same day at 4:00 p.m. also at the Church.  Bro. Ken Roden will be officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodland Heights Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Brent Haley, Joel Hayes, David Romine, David Simpson, Jr., Wade Shimming, and Bart Benson.
