Bonnie Jean Spurlock, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2023, at her home in Holly Grove, Arkansas. Bonnie, was born on July 31, 1948, in Paragould, Arkansas, was a cherished member of her community and family, known for her kind spirit, love for the outdoors, and a knack for finding beauty in the most unexpected places.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her loving husband; Carl Spurlock, daughter; Billie Jean Clayton, parents, brothers; Terry Batten, Norman Batten, sisters; Diane Batten, and Connie Batton.
Survivors include her children Kevin Gene (Megan) Spurlock, Kami (Paul) Clayton Chism, Cindy Vanpool, and Carla Bell. As a grandmother, Bonnie played an integral role in the lives of her grandchildren: Zachary Carter, Kailee (Zorn) Carter, Roman Spurlock, River Spurlock, Liam Spurlock, Lindsey Vanpool, Kerry Vanpool, Billy Spurlock, Nick Chism, Carson Bowser, and Jeremy Spurlock. The love she had for her family extended to her great-grandchildren Paisley Carter, Presley Carter, and Jonathan Zorn, who will all remember her fondly.
Throughout her life, Bonnie held various roles, but she was best known for her time as a waitress. Bonnie's warm smile and friendly demeanor made her a favorite among customers. She was known to often go above and beyond for those she served, making everyone feel welcome and at home.
Bonnie had a deep love for the natural world, which was reflected in her hobbies. As a true country girl, she found peace and contentment in the great outdoors. She spent countless hours fishing, often accompanied by family members, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Her green thumb was evident in her flourishing garden, where she cultivated not only plants and flowers but also love and laughter. Bonnie's adventurous spirit led her to the exciting pastime of hunting for Indian relics. Her keen eye and patient demeanor made her quite successful in this endeavor, and she often shared her discoveries with her family, instilling in them an appreciation for history and the natural world.
