Carolyn Sue Pugh, 80, of Paragould, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022.  She was born December 22, 1941, in McDougal, Arkansas, to Ralph and Geneva Wood.  Carolyn was a dedicated member of Providence Baptist Church where she was active in the women's group and taught Sunday school.  She was devoted to loving and caring for her family.  Carolyn was a loving wife and mother, doting grandmother, and wonderful cook.  Flower gardening, scrapbooking, and reading were favorites among her many hobbies.  After teaching school at Knobel, Lafe, and Marmaduke, Carolyn retired from Paragould High School.  She dedicated her career to children with special needs and their families.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dallas Wood.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Kenneth Pugh; sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Paula Pugh, Kerry and Shirley Pugh, Kenny and Diane Pugh; daughter and son-in-law, Kristie and Shane Eubanks; sister and brother-in-law, Clarice and Winfred Cox; grandchildren, Emily and Justin Williams, Holly and Jeremy Poindexter, Ky and Mallory Pugh, Kasa and Jacob Cooper, Kale and Heather Pugh, Ethan and Kylie Pugh, Molli and David Snell, Katie and Blake Gosch, Jason and Melissa Mayer, Matt and Cara Mayer, and Xander Fisher; and 18 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 9, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Providence Baptist Church in Lafe.  The funeral service under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church with Ethan Pugh and Bart Baker officiating.  Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery.

Ky Pugh, Kale Pugh, Shane Eubanks, Jacob Cooper, Justin Williams, Jeremy Poindexter, Blake Gosch, and David Snell will serve as pallbearers.  Kevin, Kerry, Kenny, Kristie, Paula, Shirley, Diane, and Carolyn's granddaughters, great-grandchildren, and their mothers will serve as honorary pallbearers.
