Celene V. Batey Peters, 62, of Paragould, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026. She was born November 10, 1963, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Joseph Batey and Irene (Gersch) Batey. Celene attended Harding University and Arkansas State University where she graduated with a teaching degree and an accounting degree. Celene was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Celene will be missed by her friends, many that she has known since grade school.

Celene lived in Michigan, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Florida. She loved the ocean, good food, and her favorite beverage was Coke.

She is survived by her cat, Molly. Molly has fortunately been rehomed.

As a lifelong lover of cats, she always had a cat or two. If one wishes to make a lasting memorial, Celene would be honored with donations to Something Pawsitive (a cat rescue/adoption café), 223 South Pruett St, Paragould 72450.

Cremation services are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Home.
