Charles “Charlie” Poore, 60, of Paragould, Arkansas, passed away at Flo & Phil Jones Hopsice House on September 3, 2026. He was born on March 27, 1966, in Paragould, Arkansas.

Charlie was known by his loved ones for being a stubborn, funny, outgoing, and hardworking man. He was known for taking care of the people he loved and was a good friend to many.

Charlie proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Air Force, dedicating 10 years of his life to military service. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal in 1992 in recognition of his dedication and service in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. His service to his country remained a meaningful and proud part of his life. He was also a longtime employee of Frito-Lay Inc. - Jonesboro, where he worked for 15+ years. Charlie enjoyed spending time on Spring River, kayaking with friends, his dog Molly, and traveling. Above all, he cherished his family, especially his granddaughter, Ellie Jo, who was his pride and joy. 

Charlie is survived by his son, Josh (Samantha) Poore of Paragould, AR; his granddaughter, Ellie Jo Poore; his brother, Lee (Linda) Poore of Paragould, AR; sisters, Diane Sanders of Michigan, Mary (Coy) Moore of Mountain View, AR, Marie Ward of Paragould, AR, and Norma Cooper, of Paragould, AR; aunt, Patricia Lenderman; uncle, Jerry Shipman; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly. 

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Luther and Cora Shipman; father, Leonard (Sharon) Poore; mother, Dixie Nadine Turner; brothers, Jerry Len Poore and Clay (Mabel) Poore; and sister, Bonnie (Tim) Cole. 

The family asks that donations be made in Charlie’s memory to Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Donations can be made directly through DAV’s website, with an option to choose to dedicate gift in Charlie's Honor.
