Charles Laveral Rogers, 66 of Beech Grove passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was born September 9, 1946 in Tyronza to the late Abb and Hettie (Mahan) Rogers. Laveral was employed for 29 years at Greene County Tech. A family man and Jehovah's Witness, Mr. Rogers loved his kids and grandkids. He was also a writer and had one novel published. Preceding Laveral in death were his parents; one brother, Randell Rogers; one sister, Bernice Redmond.Survivors include his wife, Doris Lavern Rogers; son and daughter-in-law, Terry Laveral and Wendy Rogers; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Dustin Cashion; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Carrell and Marcella Rogers, and Larry and Nancy Rogers; one sister and brother-in-law, Georgia and Ronald Cole; three grandchildren, Shea and Stephen Rogers, and Dakota Cashion; two step-grandchildren, Christopher and Duran DeFries; a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive guests from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27 at Phillips Funeral Home. Services will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Alton Hunt and Les Langley officiating.The Brothers from the Kingdom Hall will serve as Pallbearers. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Mr. Rogers' nephews. Lavern and family, my deepest sympathies go out to you in this tragic time. I know you are all devastated tremendously.
