Obituary

Charlie Glenn Bledsoe, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed from this earth to his heavenly home on July 7, 2023, in Paragould, Arkansas. Born on April 19, 1930, in Bragg City, Missouri, Charlie was a man of many talents and interests, who left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew him.

Charlie grew up in Bragg City, the son of the late William and Flossie Bledsoe. Charlie was a jack of all trades, always eager to lend a helping hand or share his wisdom. He was a man who never met a stranger, greeting everyone he met with a warm smile and a corny joke. His love for people and his community was evident in his many roles as a teacher, principal, and preacher.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Charlie was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Bernell Bledsoe. Their love story was one of enduring commitment, mutual respect, and unshakeable devotion. Together, they built a beautiful family that includes their children Glenn (Michelle) Bledsoe, Sharon (Rick) Peek, their grandchildren Julie (Tim) Carter, Barbara (Mike)Toombs, Ricky (Amber)Peek, Charlie (Min) Peek, Cassandra (Michael) Richardson, and Charlie (Alison) Bledsoe. Charlie was also a proud great-grandfather to 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Jeannie Bledsoe, son Kenneth Bledsoe, granddaughter Jessica McIntare, brothers; William Bledsoe, Harold Bledsoe, and sister; Carrie Jane Corbin.

Charlie's faith played a significant role in his life. He was a devout Christian man who lived out his beliefs every day. He served his church and community with unwavering dedication and commitment. His spiritual guidance and deep faith were sources of comfort and inspiration to many. His preaching brought solace, his teachings brought enlightenment, and his jokes brought laughter to all.

Charlie's legacy is not just in the roles he played but also in the lives he touched. He was a nurturing father, a guiding light to his students, a beacon of faith to fellow church members, and a source of joy to his friends and family. Charlie's memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 11 2023, at Phillips Funeral Home from 10:00a.m. until service time at 11:00a.m. with David Stallings officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood cemetery.
