Cheryl Ann Stone-Johnson, born on March 25, 1958, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026. She will be remembered as a joyful spirit whose vibrant presence touched the lives of all who knew her.
Cheryl was a woman of many passions and a heart full of love. She loved traveling, finding joy and inspiration in the many places she visited and the people she met along the way. Family was central to her life, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Those who gathered in her company knew her as the life of the party, a source of laughter and light that could brighten even the darkest days.
An ordained minister with FGCI, Cheryl dedicated her life to serving the Lord. Her primary goal was to share the message of Jesus with others, and she did so with a sincerity and warmth that was deeply inspiring. Her faith was a cornerstone of her identity, guiding her every step and filling her with a joy that was contagious.
Cheryl’s laughter was legendary—an expression of her joyous nature that brought comfort and happiness to friends and family alike. She embodied kindness, generosity, and a spirit of celebration that will live on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
As we honor Cheryl Ann Stone-Johnson, we remember a life well-lived in faith, love, and laughter. Her legacy of joy and service to the Lord will continue to inspire all who were touched by her remarkable journey.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, William and Louise Braeckman; brother-in-law, Al Hilliard; and her late husband and Sarah’s dad, David Stone.
Survivors include her husband of almost 16 years, David Johnson; sons. David Johnson, Jr., Brian Johnson (Alicia), Rodger Johnson (Amy), Josh Johnson (Gabriella); daughters, Sarah Stone, Nela Ferris; brother, William Braeckman (Theresa); sisters, Nancy Lamos (Jeff), Darlene Hilliard; fifteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a multitude of close family and friends; and her honorary daughters, Kiana Dobbs (Michael), Faith Wideman, and Stephanie Servier (Ian).
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 8, from 6:00 p.m. until service time at Paragould Church of God. The memorial service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Paragould Church of God with Pastor Gary Smith and Marion Michaliszyn officiating.
