Daronda Jaquetta "JEEK" Thompson, 82, of Paragould, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2025. She was born November 20, 1942, to Virgil and Sunshine Shearer. Daronda was instrumental in forming the first ever girls softball league in Paragould. In her spare time, she loved doing all kinds of crafts.

Daronda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James "Jim" Thompson; son, Tim McFarland; grandson, Wesley Crossno; and brother, Richard Shearer.

Survivors include her sons, Hardy Thompson (Wendy), Britt McFarland (Sherry); daughter, Tammy Pillow (Jimmy); stepson, Rip Thompson; stepdaughter, Tara Wilder (Todd); brothers, Jack Shearer, Roger Shearer (Peggy); sisters, Jay Lashley, Sue Brown; thirteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday September 8, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
