David Randal Bishop, Sr., 78, of Cardwell, MO, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. He was born February 20, 1943, to Arlender and Vivion Bishop. David was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. David was an avid sports fan, especially, the St. Louis Cardinals. He coached and played softball for many years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards, and other outdoor activities. David served his community as mayor of Cardwell and Alderman of the South Ward.
David was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Danny Bishop.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Ann Bishop; sons, Tim McClish (Shelia), David R. Bishop, Jr. (Sharon), Joseph Wayne Bishop, Jason Bishop (Teresa), John Crawford; daughters, Lisa Hopper (Billy), Jeana Crawford; brothers, Jerry Mac Bishop, Sr., Harry Bishop (Sharon); sisters, Barbara June Detring, Shirley Rose Goode (Clemuel); grandchildren, Evan, Connor, Jackson, Brandon, Jessica, Corey, April, Sam, Rebecca, Blake, Lacey, Sara, Ashley, Amy, Richard, and Alicia; sixteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 23, from 2:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with David Stallings officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Cardwell Cemetery.
Brandon Bishop, David Ray, Connor Bishop, Jackson Bishop, Derek Lancaster, and  Sam Leisure will serve as pallbearers.
