Denver C. Hoggard, 80, of Harviell, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016.  He was born April 2, 1936, in Rector, AR, to the late Carthel and Opal Hoggard.  Denver served in the Army for 2 years.  He was a talented guitar and mandolin player.  Denver loved his family, especially spending time with his grandkids.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He enjoyed attending Thousand Hills Cowboy Church and looked forward to morning coffee with his buddies.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 58 years, ElFreeda Hoggard; daughter, Denise Meier; and sisters, Carmel Evans and Ruby Wooldridge.

Survivors include Denver's son and daughter in law, Kevin and Carmen Hoggard, of Harviell, MO; son in law, Dan Meier, of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Joshua Meier, of St. Louis, MO, Sarah Meier, of St. Louis, MO, Ethan Hoggard and his wife, Chelsea, of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Jansen Hoggard, of Columbia, MO.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 10, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2016, in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Neal Chilton officiating.  Burial will follow at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery.
