Donald Martin Goggins, 75, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2023. Born on September 16, 1947, he was the son of the late John and Opal Goggins. Donald was a loving and devoted father, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In his younger years, Donald was known for his adventurous spirit and fearless nature. He rode bulls with passion and skill. As he grew older, his love for the outdoors never waned, and he continued to enjoy fishing and hunting throughout his life.
Donald is survived by his sons, Bobby Goggins and Donald Martin Goggins, Jr., and his daughter, Jessica Goggins. He experienced the heartache of losing his daughter Lillian Taft.
Donald was also a beloved brother and uncle. He is survived by his brother, Richard Goggins, and his sister, Margaret Ann Freeman. His nieces, Edie Hudson, Ladon Jones, and Goldie Goggins Freeman, as well as several great-nephews and nieces, will remember him fondly as a kind and generous uncle. Donald was predeceased by his brother, Larry Goggins, and his niece, Jeannie Rousey. Even in times of loss, Donald's warmth and love for his family never faltered.
As a friend, Donald was loyal and dependable. He was always willing to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement, and his presence brought laughter and joy to those around him. His friendships spanned decades, and he will be remembered as a true and steadfast companion.
In addition to his immediate family, Donald leaves behind many extended family members who will cherish his memory. He was a strong and steady presence in their lives, and his kindness and generosity will not be forgotten.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 19, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Seventh-day Adventist Church in Jonesboro. The funeral service under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Seventh-day Adventist Church in Jonesboro with Heherson Tumolva officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.
Jay Jones, Jake Jones, Joshua Harris, Colton Harris, Chris Hanson, and Mike Overfield will serve as pallbearers. William McElroy, Anthony Hudson, and Andrew Flores will serve as honorary pallbearers.
