IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Doris Wandalene
Forbis
October 26, 1930 – July 3, 2025
Doris Wandalene Forbis, a cherished soul and beacon of unwavering faith, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, at the age of 94 at her lifelong home in Paragould, Arkansas. Born on October 26, 1930, in the very same town, she completed the circle of life surrounded by the familiar comforts of the place she held dear to her heart.
Doris's life was one of devotion and joy. Her steadfast commitment to her spiritual journey was evident to all who knew her, as she attended Westview Baptist Church until her health no longer permitted. Her love for the Lord was palpable and manifested in the way she lived her life and treated others.
An avid reader, she often found solace and inspiration within the pages of her Bible, which was not only a source of strength but also a constant companion through the various seasons of her life. Doris's intellectual curiosity was also evident in her fondness for crossword puzzles, which she approached with the same grace and patience that she applied to every aspect of her life.
Doris was a vibrant member of the Sr. Bee's community, where she was known for her active participation and the warmth she brought to each gathering. Bingo at the Sr. Bee's was always made brighter by Doris's enthusiastic participation and the friendly competition she fostered.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, George and Myrtle Tomlinson; husband, Leon Forbis; son, Bobby Forbis; son-in-law, Dale Ellenburg; four sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include her children, Walter Forbis (Janice), Michael Forbis (Janice), Gaylon Forbis, Kathy Forbis, Kaye Rogers, and Patricia Ellenburg; grandchildren, Jason Forbis, Jennifer Clester, Tracy Householder, Tony Pemberton, Jacob Forbis, Wayne Ellenburg, Angela Forbis, Jerrett Forbis, and Bradley Rogers; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
