Douglas Wayne DeMent, of Cardwell, Missouri, passed away on October 5, 2026, at the age of 65. He was born on October 11, 1960, in Paragould, Arkansas.

Douglas graduated from Southland High School, class of 1979, and spent many years working in quality control at several factories. He was known as a devoted husband and best friend to his wife, Donna, and will be remembered as kind, fun-loving, and deeply kindhearted. His life was also marked by the simple joys he cherished, including going to auctions and gardening. Children and animals held a special place in his heart, and he especially loved entertaining his nieces and nephews.

He leaves behind his wife, Donna DeMent; his daughter, Beverly Whitehead; his brothers, Bill DeMent (Tammy) and Greg DeMent (Tonna); his sister, Margaret DeMent; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roger Knight (Kina), Dee Dee Bridges (Daniel), Sarah Whaley (Alan), Richard Kinght (Christine), and Sharon Fletcher (Randy). He will also be fondly remembered by his special friends, Tara Baugus and Brian Mitchell, along with the numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great- nephews and friends whose lives were brightened by his warmth and good nature.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Wayne and Nellie Imogene DeMent; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert and Bobbie Knight; and his sister-in-law, Patricia Knight.

Douglas will be remembered for his generous spirit, his love for family, and the happiness he brought to those around him. His memory will remain a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
