Elaine Schaefer, 74, of Paragould, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022. She was born January 21, 1948, to Thomas Liagh and Alma Ruth Horton. Elaine was a rock collector and enjoyed worshipping at Bethel Church of Christ. She was a retired cook at Greene Acres Nursing Home and was elected dietary person of the year twice.

Elaine was preceded in death by her father; mother; stepfather, Willard Duncan; and brothers, Kenny and Ronald Horton.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Bob Schaefer; sons, Barry Schaefer, Jeffery Winston; daughters, Joan Stallings, Deborah Mitts, and Angel Ballweg; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 3, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, at Phillips Funeral Home with David Stallings officiating.  Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.
