Elsie McConnaughhayMay 25, 1926 - December 6, 2013 Elsie McConnaughhay, 87, passed away December 6, 2013 at The Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born May 25, 1926 in Craighead County, to Ed and Willie Pruitt Carter. Elsie was of the Baptist faith. After retiring from Emerson she loved gardening and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Willie Carter; husband, George McConnaughhay; two brothers, Arthur Carter and Cletis Carter; and a sister, Lucille Carter.Elsie is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Gail McConnaughhay and Jim and Bren McConnaughhay; four grandchildren, Kim Smith, Shelly Templeton, Jamie Johnson and Mandy Ballard; eight great grandchildren, Josh Smith, Shelbe Dollars, Donnie Smith, Emilee Higdon, Whitney Nettle, Madison Nettle, Sammi Jo Ballard, and JaLeigh Johnson; and eleven great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday December 9, 2013 from 1 - 2 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2 p.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Brother Raymond Attwood officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR.Pallbearers will be Josh Smith, Donnie Smith, Chad Easton, Michael Easton, Brian Easton and Brian Chipman.
