Francis Edward “Ed” Monette, Jr., 79, of Paragould, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by the love of his family and the faithful companionship of his beloved dogs.

Born on August 28, 1946, in Grayling, Michigan. Ed lived a life defined by hard work, unwavering devotion to his family, and a quiet strength that touched everyone who knew him. He spent many years working as a mechanic and a factory worker before retiring, taking great pride in his work and in helping others whenever he could.

Ed found his greatest joy in the simple things in life. He loved being outdoors, caring for animals, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and sharing life’s moments with his beloved wife, Kathy. Married for more than four decades, Ed and Kathy built a life centered on love, loyalty, and family. Their home was always a place of comfort, laughter, and cherished memories.

Those who knew Ed will remember his quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, and the wisdom he generously shared. He had a way of making people laugh, offering thoughtful advice, and reminding those around him of what truly mattered. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose love for his family knew no bounds.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Edward Monette, Sr. and Helen Marie Monette.

Ed is survived by his devoted wife of more than forty years, Kathy Monette, of the home; his sons, Ed Monette and wife Cheryl of Pocahontas, Arkansas; Craig Monette and husband Jerod Monette of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Jay Monette and wife Kaitlin Monette of Canton, Illinois. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

The family finds peace in knowing that, after a lifetime of loving Kathy, his final moments were spent exactly where he wanted to be: at home, by her side, surrounded by the family and faithful companions he cherished most.

Although our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that the love, laughter, wisdom, and unwavering devotion Ed shared throughout his life will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know him. His legacy is not measured by the years he lived, but by the family he built, the lives he touched, and the unconditional love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 25, from 1:00 until service time at Phillips Funeral Home.  The memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Larry Ring officiating.
