IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frederick Eugene
Hood
June 26, 1959 – September 21, 2025
Frederick Eugene Hood, known as Fred to his friends and family, passed away on September 21, 2025, in Paragould, Arkansas, at the age of 66. Born on June 26, 1959, in Staunton, Illinois, Fred was a man whose generosity and skills left an indelible mark on those around him.
Fred's life was one of dedication and love. He shared a beautiful marriage of 40 years with his beloved wife, Anne Hood. Together, they raised a wonderful family, celebrating the lives of their sons Jason, Justin (Dawn), Andrew, and Lucas (Kloe) Hood. Fred was a doting grandfather to Ryan Hood, Logan Hood, Emma Belt, Zypher Hood, Kameron Rovey, Kayden Rovey, Sadie Hood, Sophie Hood, and Londyn Hood. He also treasured the bond he shared with his siblings Mike (Jeannie) Hood, Rhonda Fech, Lonnie Hood, and Lori Roddick. His parents, Ronald and Hervana Hood, and his cherished daughter, Jessica Rovey, preceded him in death.
Fred's professional life was as robust and varied as his personal interests. He began his career at TK Dodge before finding his long-term place at American Steel Foundries, from where he retired after many years of dedicated service. His colleagues knew him as a steadfast and reliable man, always ready to lend a hand.
Outside of work, Fred was a man of many talents and hobbies. His passion for wood working, building, and restoring old cars was well-known among friends and neighbors. Fred had a natural gift for fixing things, a talent he generously used to help others. He was the kind of person who could not only identify a problem but also had the skills and patience to solve it. Fred never charged a penny for his services, a testament to his kind-hearted nature. His love for helping people was evident in every project he undertook, and his absence will be felt by many in the community.
