Obituary

Gary Dallas Prince went to be with his Lord on March 15, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on October 1, 1948, Gary lived a life marked by faith, friendship, and a generous spirit that touched the hearts of many.

As an Army Veteran, Gary proudly served in Germany for two years. Gary was a talented carpenter who built many houses in Paragould. He took great pride in his skill. He was a Paragould Firefighter for 22 years. Gary had a passion to serve.

A man who loved the Lord deeply, Gary’s faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and inspiring those around him. His devotion was evident in his day-to-day interactions, always offering a helping hand to anyone in need. Known for his quiet generosity, Gary had a unique gift for giving without expecting anything in return, embodying a selflessness that defined his character.

Gary was passionate about his favorite pastimes which brought joy and camaraderie into his life. He was an avid supporter of the Razorbacks and Cardinals, often found cheering enthusiastically for his beloved teams. Among his cherished hobbies was crappie fishing at Lake Norfork, where he shared many memorable days with close friends. In his younger years, Gary also delighted in turkey hunting, a pursuit that reflected his love of the outdoors.

Music held a special place in Gary’s heart, as he enjoyed singing with his group, Gary Prince and The Sugar Creek Band. This creative outlet allowed him to express his warm spirit and brought happiness not only to himself but to those who heard him perform. He performed at numerous benefit events to help his community.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice Prince and Lucy Cupp Prince and stepmother, Wanda Prince.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Carla Prince; son, Tony Prince (Heather); daughters, Debbie Gayle Prince, Kelly McCain (Michael), Lora Crossno (Eric), Amy Klingensmith (C.J.); brother, Clarence Eugene Prince (Betty); sisters, Sharon Murphy (David), Kay Wheeler (Danny), Nina Curtis (Frank); step-brothers, Dr. Lance Monroe and George Monroe; grandchildren, Shawn Prince, Morgan Dawson, Hunter Prince, Nick Locke, Blaine Pillow, Karlee Jo McCarty, Jayden Hughes, Ashlyn Craft, Alison Prince, Alexis Klingensmith, Hallie Klingensmith, Alex Prince; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 18, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Dennis Strope officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.

Hunter Prince, Tony Prince, Shawn Prince, Nick Locke, Eric Crossno, and C.J. Klingensmith will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include The Sugar Creek Band, Jerry Gazaway, Moud Gazaway, Bob Wells, Anthony Templeton, Tony Case, and many other close friends.
