Gaylon Bateman, 68, of Paragould, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022. He was born November 24, 1954, to Herschel and Genevieve Bateman. Gaylon was a member of the Kinfolk Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed watching stock car racing, deer hunting, was a commercial fisherman, and was a huge Nascar fan.

Gaylon was preceded in death by his father; sister, Karen Maxwell; and brothers, Paul Bateman, Jack Bateman, Michael Bateman.

Survivors include his mother, Genevieve Bateman; son, Michael Bateman of Walcott; daughters, Jennifer Baskin (Terry), Beverly Carr (Brian) all of Paragould; sister, Janice Bateman; grandchildren, Christopher Bateman, Melanie Carr, and Maegan Carr; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 27, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Monday, November 28, at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Bryce Smithee officiating. Burial will follow at New Friendship Cemetery.

Patrick Bateman, Phillip Bateman, Jacob Rushing, David Jackson, and Ashton Rushing will serve as pallbearers.
